Collection: Designer: Kaj Franck

Kaj Franck is a prominent midcentury Finnish designer, who worked for Nuutajärvi and Iittala glassworks.

Franck was a revolutionary figure in the world of art glass and tableware. In the early 1950s, he broke with decorative excess and turned toward pure forms, original colors, textures, and clarity of design.

He also reimagined how people use and buy household objects:
- He introduced the now-familiar idea of nesting kitchenware, designed to save space.
- He was among the first to suggest selling tableware not as fixed sets or services, but as individual pieces, tailored to the user's real needs.
