Brutalist vintage art glass figurine and candle holder from the Kivi Set (Finnish for Stone-set) series. Substantial, really heavy: 1.5 kg.
Beautiful amber-brown glass in the lower part of the item. Handmade and signed by the designer.
Organic design capturing essential nature patterns of Nordics in glass: ice, plants, stone, water. Such an authentic school of art glass design existed only in the second half of the 20th century in Nordic countries.
1980s. Humpilla Glassworks, Finland. Designed by Pertti Santalahti. His works, including this series, are exhibited at museums, such as Finnish Glass museum.
