Bauhaus Art Deco Spritzdekor Bowl, Paetsch Keramik 1930s Germany
Bauhaus Art Deco Spritzdekor Bowl, Paetsch Keramik 1930s Germany
Vintage serving bowl from Paetsch Frankfurt Oder is a great example of Spritzdekor, the airbrushed ceramic technique that defined a certain chapter in German design history.
The soft gradients of green and yellow play with light and geometry in a way that clearly nods to both Art Deco and Bauhaus. There’s a tension here between ornament and function, but it’s balanced: the clean lines, the metal rim and handle, and the almost architectural interior surface give it a kind of quiet modern confidence.
1930s. Dimensions: Diameter is 20 cm, Height is 5.5 cm. Excellent vintage condition. It marked by Paetsch: 3308/1 and 3232.
It works well as a fruit or bread bowl, but honestly, it stands on its own as a design object. This piece feels at home in interiors that mix vintage and modern: think a midcentury sideboard, a minimalist open kitchen, or even a Brutalist loft with a few soft accents. It’s the kind of item that doesn’t scream for attention but always starts conversations. A reminder that utility and beauty aren’t mutually exclusive.
