Aino Aalto Iittala, Set of 6 tumblers 90 mm
Aino Aalto Iittala, Set of 6 tumblers 90 mm
Clear glass tumblers, set of 6, from the iconic early modernist series Bölgeblick, a minimalist design classic by Aino Aalto.
Created in 1932 for Karhula glassworks, the series marked a shift toward functional, modern Nordic tableware. ‘Bölgeblick’ (Swedish for “Wave Glance”) is a reference to both the design’s gently radiating lines and the designer’s name: Aalto, which also means "wave" in Finnish.
Pressed clear glass with soft, geometric contours and stepped sides — a hallmark of Aino Aalto’s pioneering approach to form and function. These glasses embody the Bauhaus-influenced, atectonic style that defined early Finnish modernism.
The series received international acclaim, winning Gold at the 1936 Milan Triennial, the most prestigious design exhibition of its era.
Produced by Iittala glassworks, Finland. Height: 9 cm. Sold as a set of 6. Marked: Aino Aalto Iittala.
